In schizophrenia not all symptoms are created equal

Questions abound about how a diagnosis of schizophrenia is made. There are different types of schizophrenia symptoms ranging from strange thoughts and perceptual experiences to an oppressive lack of interest in one's surroundings or complete immobility. In this article we review the main types of symptoms that count toward a diagnosis and briefly discuss how they respond to the typical medications prescribed for schizophrenia.
