Austin Symphony Cancels July 4 Show

So, as if the loss of the fireworks wasn't enough, the Austin Symphony Orchestra announced that it will not be performing its yearly July 4 show on Auditorium Shores.

The orchestra's performance of patriotic music on the Fourth of July draws an estimated 100,000 people to the shores of Lady Bird Lake.

Bon Appétit Says Austin Has Best Barbecue in America

is the absolute best in America.

So though I listed it as a place to get Austin dads a special meal on Father's Day, Bon Appéti's praise is sure to bring even bigger crowds to the no-frills, just-the-meat-ma'am East Austin eatery run by local pit master Aaron Franklin.

UT Longhorns Head to College World Series

The Longhorns' 4-2 win over ASU in front of more than 7, 100 fans at UFCU Disch-Falk Field means they're heading for the College World Series a record 34th time.
