Wheel of Fortune Casting Tour Heads to Charlotte This Weekend

If you're always watched game shows on television and thought you'd be perfect, here's your chance. The "Wheelmobile," a 39-foot Winnebago that tours nationwide, is headed to Charlotte to audition contestants for television's number one game show - Wheel of Fortune. Auditions will be at Toyota & Scion (9131 South Boulevard Charlotte, NC 28273) from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, May 18 and 19, 2013.

Applications will be given out one hour before each show begins on the two days. Shows will begin at 1 p.m., 2:30 p.m. and 4 p.m. with each show lasting about an hour - so you don't need to arrive hours before the event. Everyone who attends will be able to submit an application, and participants will be selected to come to the stage and audition via a random draw. Each person who comes up to the stage will be evaluated as a potential contestant for the show. At the end of the puzzle, all contestants on stage will be awarded a prize (Wheel of Fortune hats, t-shirts and duffle bags are just some of the stuff you might win).

Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse Stopping in Charlotte This Wednesday

Summer X Games Headed to Charlotte?

Could one of the world's largest action sports events be headed to the Queen City? We're one step closes. Charlotte has been named of of four finalists to host ESPN's X Games. The event has been held in Los Angeles for the past 10 years, but organizers are looking to branch out and take the event to new markets. Charlotte will be competing with the cities of Detroit, Austin, Texas, and Chicago for the right to host the even for three years - starting in 2014.

Lock Norman Highland Games Open Tomorrow!

2013 marks the 20th year of the Rural Hill Scottish Festival and Loch Norman Highland Games, Charlotte's largest celebration of all things Scottish and Scots-Irish. You'll find authentic music, dancing, culture, art, and of course, food. Organized by the Catawaba Valley Scottish Society, the festival is held at historic Rural Hill Farm in Huntersville, on land settled in 1760. Along with professional and amateur athletics, the festival promises authentic piping and drumming, highland and Scottish country dancing, fiddle and harp competitions, and plenty more.
