If you�re looking to get out of your house this weekend, consider walking around El Paso aimlessly with the undead at the third annual Zombie Walk El Paso.

Don�t worry, it�s all for the fun and love of zombies. These zombies moan and groan for brain and flesh, but don�t actually satiate their gory appetites.

The walk starts at about 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at downtown El Paso�s San Jacinto Plaza. Where the zombies will travel is anyone�s guess, but it�s sure to be weird and fun.

Everyone in the family is invited (including pets) to come out in tattered clothing and covered in fake blood, gruesome gashes and pus-filled sores.

There are three basic rules to the zombie walk:

1. Don�t be rude.
2. Don�t do anything that would result in harm to yourself or others.
3. Don�t do anything illegal.

Music on the Patio

The weather is starting to get colder, which means several outdoor activities are coming to an end. Among them is La Vi�a's Music on the Patio.

On Sunday, the local winery will host the final Music on the Patio of the year from 1 to 5 p.m.

For the last several years a group of us have headed out to La Vi�a with a picnic basket, a blanket and board games to enjoy the outdoors and live music.

Admission is free, but you have to purchase beverages from the winery. If you go I recommend the Cote de Bravo or the Rojo Loco.

La Vi�a is located at 4201 S. Highway 28 in La Union, N.M. It's a good opportunity to get out of the stuffy indoors and appreciate the region�s wine country.

Speed Dating at the Centennial Club

Here�s a curious item I found while searching for things to do this week.

Speed Dating: Centennial Style!

I�m not on the market, but I found the item intriguing because single friends gave me the impression that speed dating in El Paso was a bust. However, Fort Bliss does indeed offer speed dating for singles 35 and older at the Centennial Club on Biggs Army Airfield. The fast-paced dates begin at 7 p.m. on the second Friday of every month, beginning Oct. 10.

There is no entry fee, but you�ll need to pre-register online, in person at Bldg. 11 on post or call (915) 568-6741. Space is limited to the first 25 males and 25 females.

If you live off-post you�ll need a gate pass from the pass office, so make sure you have your car insurance, car registration, and a valid picture ID.

KLAQ Haunted House
