One of the most world's foremost GLBT celebrations, New York City's Gay Pride Celebration takes place throughout the final weekend of June, with official events - the Pride Rally, Rapture on the River, the VIP Rooftop Party, The March, PRIDEfest, the Dance on the Pier, and the Pride Poolside Party - taking place Friday through Sunday, June 28 to June 30. There's plenty to see and do, and even beyond the official NYC Pride events, a number of other parties and celebrations related to Pride are set for the weekend.

The popular seaside resort town of Rehoboth - a favorite of LGBT vacationers in Washington, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and elsewhere in the Mid-Atlantic region - is heading into its busy and fun summer season. First Albuquerque Film & Media Experience set for June 3-9 in Nob Hill

June is already a big month for gay and lesbian visitors to New Mexico, with Albuquerque Gay Pride (headlined this year by Kat Deluna and Joey Diamond) set for June 29, and Santa Fe Pride taking place a week before on June 22. Although not specifically a GLBT event, the brand-new Albuquerque Film & Media Experience, which takes place June 3 to 9 in the city's artsy and fun Nob Hill District (along historic Route 66), provides arts-minded visitors one more great reason to visit the Land of Enchantment in June.

Where to Party in Paris During Gay Pride (Marche des Fiertes LGBT)

Over at About.com's excellent Paris Travel site, you'll find a great article on LGBT (and "friendly) bars and clubs around Paris - I thought I'd discuss this helpful resource, as Paris Gay Pride (Marche des Fiertes LGBT) is coming up in almost exactly a month - the festivities take place on Saturday, June 29, this year. Less than two weeks later, France continues its celebration of gay rights and culture, as Marseille is hosting EuroPride 2013 from July 10 to July 20. Plenty of travelers headed to EuroPride will be spending some time before or after in Paris, which is about 3.5 to 4 hours north of Marseille by train.

Ready for Gay Summer Camp? Two Georgia Weekends Planned for Mid-August

Whether you actually attended sleep-away summer camp as a kid, or you never enjoyed the opportunity to do so, the women's and men's weeks planned in August by GLAC (Gay & Lesbian Adults Camp) sound like a brilliant idea. There are plenty of opportunities out there for LGBT folks to camp in tents, both in the wilderness and at gay-popular campgrounds and RV parks. And, of course, there's no shortage of themed gay vacation weeks held throughout the summer, everywhere from Provincetown to the Russian River. GLAC's Thursday-Monday adult gay summer-camp experiences, which take place on the grounds of an actual summer-camp facility in northern Georgia's forested Blue Ridge Mountains, are quite different, however.

Congrats Minnesota, Rhode Island, Delaware, the Latest States to Legalize Gay Marriage

As a resident of Oregon, I've been watching efforts here to overturn the state's same-sex marriage ban with great interest. If all goes as is hoped, Oregon voters will reverse the ban when the issue appears as a measure on the 2014 ballot. I hadn't quite expected the tide to turn so quickly in so many other states, but just in the past two weeks, three more states pushed through bills legalizing gay marriage. They are Delaware, Rhode Island, and Minnesota - an interesting combination of the two smallest states in the Union and only the second U.S. state that isn't on the East or West Coast (Minnesota's neighbor, Iowa, was the first, and Illinois may not be far behind). These are exciting times in what's been a long, arduous campaign for marriage equality, and - of course - any day now the U.S. Supreme Court will hand down rulings related to DOMA and California's infamous Prop 8. Here's hoping the march forward continues.

Meet John Waters, and win Trip to Baltimore to Attend 2014 Maryland Film Festival

Friendly, historic, and increasingly hip Baltimore, the city long celebrated in the riotously irreverent films of local son John Waters, has announced a fun travel contest aimed at helping to welcome LGBT visitors. With Maryland having recently legalized gay marriage, and Baltimore long having cultivated a vibrant LGBT community as well as an eclectic and edgy arts scene, the city has launched the All Access Baltimore contest, in conjunction with its efforts to promote the city at several major queer film festivals this year (Boston LGBT Film Festival in early May, Philadelphia Q Fest in mid-July, Rhode Island Gay and Lesbian Film Festival in early August, and Reel Affirmations LGBT Festival in Washington, DC in mid-October).
