San Antonio - New Listings of Public Access Golf Courses

They say that "everything is bigger in Texas," and San Antonio is no exception. Now the seventh-largest city in the United States (hard to believe, but true), San Antonio is home to a variety of very fine golf courses, including traditional layouts (check out the lovely Brackenridge Park course, an original A.W. Tillinghast design), parkland courses, and beautiful golf resorts. Mild temperatures and more than 300 days of sunshine annually mean you can tee it up year-round in San Antonio - rain is but a "sometime thing" and rarely seems to last for more than a few hours.

Planning a Caribbean Golf Vacation? Consider the Island of St. Kitts

If you're planning a Caribbean golf vacation, I suggest you consider the island of St. Kitts. There's nothing quite like a tropical island beach, the sound of steel drum music drifting in on the breeze, the seemingly endless ocean stretching away as far as the eye can see, the colors of the ocean a vast pallet of colors from the palest emerald green to deepest midnight blue. St. Kitts is one of my favorite Caribbean destinations.

I first visited St. Kitts and Nevis some 15 years ago. Back in those days, the islands were remote and virtually undiscovered by the traveling public, much less golfers looking for something different. Today, the Royal St. Kitts Golf Club has one of the finest golf courses in the Caribbean. Take that and the adjacent St. Kitts Marriott Resort, and you have a golf destination with a difference. Check the Jim McLean Signature Golf Course at Doral

The Jim McLean Signature Course at Doral opened for play in May 2009. It does, according to the man himself, Jim McLean, "offer a fair test of skill and shot-making." The first three holes on the McLean Course are consecutive par-4's approaching nearly 500 yards each, truly defining a new golf course which will ensure a great challenge for players at all levels. The new course includes design features that enhance aesthetics as well as course strategy. Tee complexes are placed to provide varying distances to challenge players of all levels.
