Every spring brings Quebec City's theater festival, the Carrefour international de théâtre. Productions from abroad make up at least half of the program, complemented by Québec and Canadian productions, including premières, remakes and works by emerging artists. The festival is meant to be a crossroads where professionals meet, discoveries are made, and audiences discuss and express their opinions. A celebration of theatre and contemporary creation! Theater buffs can buy individual tickets, or passes to attend many shows.

Exhibition: Revelations: Understanding the World Through Art

Exhibition: Léopold L. Foulem: Singularities

Léopold L. Foulem has exhibited his work in more than 40 solo shows, and his career is now in its fifth decade. He is undoubtedly the best-known Canadian ceramist on the international scene. His rigorous and uncompromising artistic project, whose arsenal includes humour, irony and provocation, is a constant claim for recognition of ceramics as a sovereign art form. This exhibition at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec presents the first true retrospective devoted to this artist who places ceramics - as a discipline and not as a material - at the center of his concerns.

Music: Montreal Chamber Music Festival

May in Montreal and Quebec City

In May, nature (finally!) wakes up again. The snow has completely melted, tulips and spring flowers are coming out, tree buds are quickly turning into the first green leaves of the season. Warm days are common, and when the sun's shining, the Québécois flock outside to stock up on the warmth they've been missing all winter, making for very lively weekends and terrace cocktails hours.
