Wax Collars Help to Lessen Drips

If you're like me, even with the greatest intentions of leaving the bathroom spotless after a d.i.y. wax, you may end up scrubbing off dried wax from the sink. One accessory, although not absolutely necessary to removing the hair, is extremely helpful - - the wax collar (compare prices). It fits around the underside rim of the wax pot by being slipped on from the bottom so that drips are caught, but also helps remove the pot out of the warmer once cooled. When a collar has had its day, you simply tear and take it off since they're made out of a thick paper.

XpresSpa Airport Relaxation

Needing to kill some time at the Orlando airport waiting for our flight back home, I just happened to spot massage chairs. Going closer I noticed it was an XpresSpa so I glanced over the menu and the crick in my neck drove me straight to the Stress & Tension Eliminator (15 min / $35). With Orlando being an extremely busy international airport, it was no surprise that I had to wait a couple minutes before I could start.

My New Go-To Wax: Satin Smooth Wild Cherry Hard Wax

Hard (a.k.a. stripless) wax can be tricky to use, even for someone who is experienced using soft (a.k.a. strip) wax. Soft wax goes on fairly thin because the cloth or muslin strip that goes on top is going to help remove it. Whereas hard wax is heated at a lower temperature and goes on thicker (like the thickness of a nickel) because it hardens and becomes a strip in itself.

Not too long ago, I wrote about a study that touted the benefits of drinking spearmint tea to help with excess facial and body hair in women (hirsutism) caused by a hormonal imbalance where too much androgen hormones are produced. Now I've also come across some information that suggests taking Saw Palmetto, a type of berry fruit, in capsule form may also help with reducing androgen hormone production, therefore lessening the amount of hair.
