March Madness: Playback, Intruders and Brake

Currently, Silent House is the only horror movie slated to receive a wide theatrical release in the US in March, but fear not, there are several limited genre releases during the month featuring notable names. Scary Movie 5 Pushed Back to 2013

Given there's only two months until the April 20 release date of Scary Movie 5 and we have yet to have a confirmed cast or plot, much less a trailer or any imagery, it should come as no surprise that The Weinstein Company has postponed the film. Now, we won't get to see the fifth entry in the long-running horror spoof series until January 11, 2013 -- meaning two things: 1) there's another year of pop culture references that will be crammed into the movie, and 2) the inevitable Paranormal Activity gag will be all the more dated.

SyFy Developing Legion TV Show

Following news that legendary big-screen horror icons Hannibal Lecter, Norman Bates and Dracula are all being packaged into TV series comes word of a not-quite-legendary genre property likewise heading to the small screen: Legion. Yes, the movie about killer angels. SyFy is developing a show that continues the tale of the Archangel Michael (played in the film by Paul Bettany), sympathetic to Man's plight, disobeying God and aiding a select group of humans in their attempt to stave off the Apocalypse. I wasn't a fan of the movie, but I'm a sucker for all things apocalyptic, so I'd give it a shot. Things are still very early, so there's no word on a cast or when the series will premiere.
