JP Sauer Model 38H 32 ACP Pistol Review

This is a look at a nifty little popper that was conceived in Germany in the late 1930s, when Big Rumble Two was brewing and Europe was on the verge of a massive Socialist-driven bloodbath. Although chambered for the relatively weak 32 ACP cartridge, this pocket pistol had a lot of commercial potential... too bad its production was almost entirely glommed by the German military, and war's end saw its factory on the wrong side of the iron curtain. This gun incorporated numerous innovations and features never before found on a handgun, and looks good doing it. Read on to learn more about this nice little pistol, whose features live on in some of today's most popular sidearms.
...

God and Guns

God, guns, and guts made America free - let's keep all three.

This article doesn't explore intestinal fortitude, but it does cover the other two, as it explores the Biblical aspects of gun rights. It asks and answers such questions as, "What does the Bible say about the right to bear arms?" and "Should a Christian practice self-defense?" Personally, I believe every person should practice self-defense, but what about the Bible issue? Check out this thoughtful article by writer Mary Fairchild to learn about that, and more.
...

How to Use a Rifle Sling

This article is meant to complement my article on using a rifle sling. I thought the older piece needed some more details and some photos, and here's what I came up with. Rifle slings can be very useful things, but most hunters and shooters never use them to their full potential. Slinging a rifle over your shoulder or across your back isn't a terrible thing, but it sure isn't useful when you need your gun in a hurry, and it will never improve your accuracy. Here's how to get the most out of your rifle or shotgun sling.
...

Hunting Vehicles I Have Owned

I'm the kind of guy who wants to get as much as possible out of the things I own - especially when they cost a lot of dough, as vehicles do. I've never had a lot of money, and I have to stretch it in order to have anything worth a hoot. That means that I do my best to get the most out of my hunting vehicles. Here's a look at some of the motorized wheels that have helped me get around in the woods; most of which have hauled numerous deer, and all of which have seen rough driving in ugly terrain, and brought me back to camp.
...

UCO Clarus LED Lantern Flashlight Review

I don't often give five-star reviews, but this handy little light earned one. It's a lightweight, compact LED flashlight that converts quickly into a "lantern" that serves as a fairly good area light for truck, camp, or tent. I've used it in my truck, in my UTV, in the woods, and at camp, and it's never failed me yet. I have used a number of expensive big-name lights that didn't meet that basic requirement. And without exception, every gal who has seen this light in my presence has declared it to be CUTE! So, check out my review of this well-made, well-designed light.
...

Review: Tipton Rapid Deluxe Bore Guide Kit

I've seen more exotic bore guides, but I've never used a kit as complete as this one. That's not to say it's all peaches & cream, though - and make sure you read the review before you pick this up to use on a rimfire gun. Personally, I'd rather see this kit sold at a price point commensurate with its quality - and that would be far below its MSRP of $34.99. A bore guide can be a good investment, but be sure you read this before you pull the trigger on a bore guide purchase.
...

Stinger Shotgun Bore Cleaner Review

This product isn't the most magnificent thing around, but it is cool and useful, and I can't help but like it. Cram one of these in your shotgun's chamber, and point the gun in a safe direction. Pull the trigger, and this shell goes bang and flings a string out the end of your shotgun's barrel. Glom onto the string and drag the cleaning stuff through the barrel, and you're done... depending on how dirty your barrel is. Check it out!
...

Tree Stand Safety

Hunting from tree stands gives deer hunters the advantage of height. This puts their scent above the noses of their quarry, and in some cases makes it less likely that the deer will spot them. But anytime you leave the ground, there's risk involved. Some stands shouldn't be used at all, and others are only safe under certain circumstances. Personally, I enjoy hunting from on high, and I've done a lot of it over the past few decades. I have managed to survive all of that without falling, so maybe I know a little about staying safe in tree stands...
...

When I learned of this portable solar charger, I just had to check it out. Like many hunters, I have found myself in the woods with a dead phone battery before, and being able to charge it and other portable electronic devices in the field would be great. Using the power of the sun would be even better. Read the review to discover how this solar pocket charger fared when I tried it out.
...
