Johnny Depp and Edgar Wright Team Up for Night Stalker

Love this pairing. Deadline's reporting Edgar Wright (Scott Pilgrim, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead) has been tapped to direct Johnny Depp in the film version of the classic TV series The Night Stalker. Depp will be producing and starring in the film which is set up at Disney.

Exclusive Interview with Act of Valor Directors Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh

The action in Act of Valor is as realistic as it gets because directors Mike McCoy and Scott Waugh chose to go with active duty Navy SEALs over professional actors for their action-heavy drama. McCoy and Waugh spent two year and a half years shooting training exercises and shot the film using live fire (something that's just not done). And everything's done in-camera, which in and of itself sets Act of Valor apart from 99.9% of all action movies released theatrically.

In our exclusive interview, McCoy and Waugh discussed getting to know the Navy SEALs involved in the project, convincing them to sign on to actually star in the film, and the logistics of shooting Act of Valor:

Paul Walker to Star in Skyscraper, Narrate Air Racers 3D

Paul Walker's been very busy. The Fast and the Furious star has just signed a two-year first-look production deal with Universal Pictures, with Skyscraper named as his first film under the new Universal deal. Walker will star in and executive produce the action thriller based on a story idea by Mike Sobel.

Guillermo del Toro Will Produce Animated Day of the Dead

Guillermo del Toro - currently busy with Pacific Rim - has signed on to produce and 'present' the CG-animated film, Day of the Dead (the working title). The project, which will be directed by Jorge R Gutierrez from a script he's co-writing with Doug Langdale, marks the first time in 20 years del Toro's collaborating on a feature film that's set in Mexico.

The Hunger Games Mall Tour Announced

Lionsgate Films snatched up Summit Entertainment recently, and maybe they're kind of taking a cue from Summit's most successful franchise in promoting The Hunger Games. Lionsgate just announced that The Hunger Games cast will be hitting the road for an eight city mall tour, similar to what the Twilight cast used to do while promoting that film series.
