Recently, the Dragon Mobile Apps Team announced the launch of Dragon Dictation 2.0 for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. This newly updated app now supports iOS 4 and comes with a number of new features including a redesigned interface with the ability to post dictated text directly to Facebook and Twitter. The 2.0 update also supports multilingual capabilities with support for UK English and a promise that support for German is coming very soon.

AT&T Adds Free Public Wi-Fi Hot Spot

AT&T has had a few hiccups when it comes to having enough bandwidth to support all of its smartphone users. To help alleviate some of this congestion, the wireless carrier launched a free Wi-Fi hot zone in New York City's Times Square in May. This week, AT&T announced that will add Charlotte, N.C. to this pilot program.

In-Flight Wi-Fi Available on 1 in 3 U.S. Planes

The ability to surf the Internet from your PDA or other Internet-friendly device while flying across the country is becoming more and more common. Just a few short years after in-flight Wi-Fi became available, the service is now available on more than one-third of the nation's passenger planes. Of course, most of these plans only serve a few select routes, so unless you're criss-crossing the US frequently, you may not have had much of an opportunity to take advantage of this service.

Resco Updates Explorer 2010

Resco recently released an upgrade to Resco Explorer 2010. The new version of this file manager software features many user requests and ideas including support for wildcards from the quick-search tool, better Bluetooth transfer speeds, support for hardware keyboard commands, a progress window, and scrolling within the report view. There are a number of other, smaller improvements to the software as well.

Microsoft Introduces InstaLoad Technology

Some PDAs take traditional AA or AAA batteries. If you've ever fiddled with trying to change these batteries in a dimly lit environment, or if your eyesight isn't what it once was, you know what a pain it can be to try to figure out which direction to insert the batteries. Microsoft recently announced a new technology that could eliminate this hassle altogether. Called InstaLoad, this new technology lets users install a battery without regard to positive and negative polarity.
