Liposuction is a great procedure for reducing unwanted fat from certain areas. However, there are limitations to what it can do for a person's physique and life in general. There are certain things that liposuction cannot do. Read about those limitations in:
...

Death After Plastic Surgery

Kanye West (left) and Donde West (right)
Vince Bucci / Getty Images</div

39-year-old mother of two, Adriana De Silva, had serious complications after undergoing plastic surgery on April 2, 2013. These complications led to her death days later. This scenario is eerily similar to that of Donde West, mother of recording artist Kanye West.

De Silva underwent three operations simultaneously - breast augmentation, neck liposuction, and an abdominoplasty, more commonly known as a tummy tuck. It is not uncommon to have multiple plastic surgery procedures performed at one time. In fact it is completely safe...in the right candidate and in the right setting.

Prior to ANY plastic surgery procedure, you should obtain medical clearance. Basically this means you should have a history and physical to make sure there are no hidden medical issues which could increase your risk for complications or death. Some patients get annoyed with this extra step, believing they should be able to hop onto the operating room table the same day they decide to have a procedure. These patients are more than welcome to go to another plastic surgeon who cares more about the almighty dollar than their wellbeing. I'm always amazed when people get annoyed their surgeon wants to put their health and wellbeing first and foremost.

Also if you're going to have a bigger, more extensive procedure, it may be prudent to go an aftercare facility where they can monitor you after surgery.

In short, you only get one you. Make sure you and your surgeon dot all the i's and cross all the t's prior to your procedure. And remember:

Be truthful when it comes to your medical history. If you choose to hide a medical problem, any subsequent complications that could've been avoided are on YOU.

Don't give your surgeon a hard time if they want to investigate any medical issues they feel could be a potential problem.

Finally, even the most perfect surgery, performed by a skilled surgeon on a healthy patient can go wrong. Unfortunately, that's the plain truth.

Two "gummy bear" implants out on the market. One is made by Sientra and the other by Allergan. They were FDA-approved in 2012 and 2013, respectively. Earlier this month, I published an article about the Natrelle 420 Silicone Gel Implant manufactured by Allergan. The article below focuses on the implant made by Sientra.

As a whole, plastic surgery procedures are lower in numbers than they were five to six years ago. However, things are on the upswing.

So how many procedures were performed then versus now? And which procedures have stayed the most popular or are becoming more or less popular?
...

At book club this past Wednesday evening, two of my girlfriends were lamenting about the state of their breasts after pregnancy and breastfeeding. And that was only after one child! In reference to their breasts, I believe I heard the words "pancake" and "saggy" and even an attempt to make the sound of a deflating balloon accompanied by a hand motion.
...

14.6 million plastic surgery procedures were performed in the United States in 2012, up from 13.8 million in 2011. Now, that's a lot of surgery. So while the U.S. remains the plastic surgery capital of the world in terms of sheer numbers, the U.S. is not the most frequent partaker of plastic surgery! Nope. Would you believe me if I said it was South Korea. Yep! Per 1000 people in the population, South Korea gets 16 procedures done. From there, 14 procedures per 1000 people are done in Greece, 13.5 per 1000 in Italy, 13 per 1000 in Brazil, and 11 per 1000 people in Colombia.
...
